I remember reading the "The New Colossus" sonnet that is mounted in the Statue of Liberty after I became a US citizen and being very affected by the line "Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" It makes me think of becoming a US citizen and now being responsible for opening the doors for others to do the same.
So with this pin I'm trying to "lift my lamp" and do what I can by donating 100% of the profits from these pins to RAICES.
